Consistant gelding Snowy Mountain (AUS) stumbled badly and faltered just before the finish line, and was pulled up shortly after. He suffered a fractured near side humerous, and was transported to the trainers stables with the course veterinarian before being euthanased, 4th of August 2008. He rarely ran a bad race, and even here in his last he crossed the line third after breaking down.
