Cranbourne Hurdle Trials, 23rd April 2009
Experienced jumper Shrogginet (AUS) (winner of the 2008 Macdonald Steeplechase at Moonee Valley) fell in a hurdle trail at Carnbourne and fractured a leg. He was euthanased on track, 23rd of April, 2009. RIP, old fella.

I remember the day I first saw Shrogginet. I was at Moonee Valley last year when this dark horse caught my eye. I'm fond of grey and black horses, and so I decided to keep an eye on him, backing him every chance I got.
He was a fantastic jumper, and I was looking forward to seeing him jump this year. I was saddened to hear of his demise, and he will be missed.
