Odin Warrior (NZ)

Bay gelding 2004 - 3/5/2009, by Viking Ruler ex Tiffany Heights (NZ)
Trainer: Brian Jenkins
Owners: D Humphries, T Geary, P Green, J Harrison, J Peach, J Thomas, G Hurley, S Wright, M Staley, A Baldwin.
19 3-4-2 $41,990 Stakes AU
Sandown, Hillside ~ 2400m 0 - 82
4 year old gelding and last start winner Odin Warrior (NZ) broke down badly at the 700m mark. I have conflicting reports from owners, one stating he was walked back to his stall before his injuries were determined, another stating he was examined and euthanased on track. Either way, he will be sadly missed as can been seen from the comments left for him. Sandown (Hillside) Sunday 3rd of May, 2009.

Trainer was Brian Jenkins.
Horse actually walked back to the stables where he was identified as being badly injured. He was a race horse on the up and provided me and my family extreme pleasures. Will be sadly missed.

Thanks for the additional information - the stewards reports never make note of things like that.
RIP Odin Warrior (NZ).

As one of the owners,i will sadly miss him:( i have cried!
always loved horses and racing,so i decided to buy my first share about 1 year and abit ago...there was one share left for this viking ruler unknown as a sire at that stage, but as it turned out he went on to trial only beaten 3 lengths and 1.5 lengths to city class group winning horses.as the viking ruler stats started coming out,i always thought we could have a handy stayer. As he always showed promice early he just looked to be one paced and turning off and on 2 much to be better than average..up over 2000 and blinkers on he was a changed horse!not a superstar but he for sure had a future!country cups was the focus and it was something we had an eye on as he got older..he was only 4 but he was part of my life already and i was always excited to go watch him..iam an animal lover and deeply like all owners and shattered and ill miss him!thanks clanbrooke, lorna moore and brian jenkins racing stables for the thrill he gave us! 18 starts and never ran a bad race! huge heart... RIP ODIN :>(

I would just like to correct the fact that he walked back to the stables that is not not true he was exzamied on the track and thats where he stayed. It has been strange not having him around or seeing him every day miss him lots. RIP Odie

I have removed the reference to him walking back to track, due to the conflicting posts here.
Thanks to you all though for leaving your messages.
