Tasmanian owned galloper Siamun had to be euthanased in January 2007 after breaking a leg in trackwork at Caulfield. It was a sad end to a very talented stayer, who we never saw the best of because of serious tendon injuries. The big grey was trained by Tony Vasil at Caulfield for Hobart owners Nick and Christine Di Giovanni, and Bill and Jill Tilbury. He broke a track record at Sandown last spring, and with an ounce of luck could have qualified for the Melbourne Cup.
