Nine year old gelding Wool Zone (AUS) made heavy contact with Taken at the Flood (AUS) as he struggled to his feet after falling heavily (see post below). Wool Zone (AUS) suffered a fractured spine and was euthanased on track, Morphettville 25th of April, 2009.

I am so saddened to learn of this valiant horse's demise. I enjoyed watching him storm to the winning post many times over the years. It is so unfair. He deserved a quiet paddock in retirement for all that he gave to his owners.
I was saddened to hear of this valiant horse's passing. He deserved a well earned retirement to a green pasture for all the pleasure he gave his fans.
