In his first and only race start, three year old gelding Happy Wanderer (AUS) broke down badly passing the 250m mark and was eased out of the race. He suffered a fractured near fore fetlock, and was euthanased on track, 21st March 2009. Only a few races later, another horse, Banksdale, broke down at the same meeting (see above).
