Top galloper with outstanding ability who broke a leg 50m AFTER the winning post at the Gold Coast after crossing the line first in the 1999 Baramul Bowl during the Magic Millions Carnival. Sadly, it was to be his last. The horse recieved a touching ovation from the crowd as he was vanned off to be euthanised, January 6th 1999.

I followed this horses rise & was so sad to see his final race, he won the race but broke his leg (approx) 20 meters from the winning post... This horse in my limited opinion could have been anything.

i agree with you whole heartedly. blue pill was the greatest racehorse i have ever seen race. the potential this horse had was amazing and i almost cried the day he broke down. the connections also had a full brother named red pill but he just could not find the post, running second on so many occasions. i really thought that blue pill would have won the stradbroke after he won so easily that day on the coast. m ichael cahil had the easiest time in the saddle.
