Why do I run this site?
One of the main reason I have for running this website is due to the many comments I get from owners/trainers of horses who appear on here. Here are a few examples, and I thank those who take the time to leave behind a message.
Hanging Rock (AUS) 26/4/2009 – “Seeing a horse fall in a race is always a terrible sight, but being one of Hanging Rock's owners it was even more terrible to see. Thanks boy, you were no great champion but you gave at least two of your owners a few heart stopping moments, mostly good ones! Hope you've gone to greener pastures!”

Dusty Samui (AUS) 18/9/2008 – “I knew this horse, i worked with Jamie Bayliss the owner and trainer of Dusty. I sadly had to quit because i moved to far out... he wasn't always the best behaved but one of the best to be around, will miss that horse even though i didnt know him that long.”

Flying Feline (AUS) 14/9/2008 – “Thanks for including our girl....means a lot. Keep up the fantastic work!”

Crying Storm (AUS) 14/6/2008 – “Thanks to Peter Gelagotis for preparing and training Crying Storm. He was an honest horse with a big heart right to the end and deserves immense credit for performing at the top level on the flat and over the jumps. He was destined for bigger things and we are blessed to have owned such a good horse and he will never be forgotten by us at all and we will cherish all the friendships made and the great moments he provided on the track. RIP to our champion horse never to be forgotten.Crying Storm Syndicate
“To my hero STORMY, u gave me my proudest moments in racing. Your kindness and willingness as a youngster will remain in my heart forever. You were always honest and proud, a true professional to the end. I was blessed to have the opportunity to train, care and work with you. To me you were the ultimate athlete...R.I.P big guy.”
P. Gelagotis, trainer.
Measles (AUS) 25/2/006 – “Thankyou so much for recognising Measle's feats. It brought a tear to my eye.”Mark & Allan Slack-Smith
Never Jest (AUS) 22/7/2004 - “I have to leave my beautiful Renee a comment. I was the first person to ride this stunning filly and her death ruined my life. Renee or Never Jest as you all know her was a horse in a million her mother died shortly after birth. Renee never had a mean bone in her body she was the sweetest horse I have ever met and will ever meet (unlike her sister Vera who is a bit of a cow) Renee never bucked when I used to ride her a little 7 year old girl she used to walk around in circles in the coral as I sat there like an untrained blob in the saddle as she calmly tolerated me. When you called her name she would come galloping up in the paddock. My grandfather told me she died of a heart attack but he also sent her to race soon after a sick stomach I will never ever forget my beautiful Renee never ever for everyone who met her will understand that there is no better horse then Renee, she was bombproof from day dot ...... miss her so so much when she died I nearly gave up riding, I would like to say thank you for giving my beautiful baby the honour of having a small section on this cyberspace it really means alot to me. I was rung the day after she died I had to have several days off of school I was an absolute mess. She was my best friend and still is and forever will be.”

Shining Storm (AUS) 12/2/2005 – “Storm, loosing you was the worst day my family ever had in racing, it broke our hearts. You came to us as a baby we broke you in and loved you, the first time we took you to the races we knew we had something special. You had owners that you gave much pleasure and glory to, but it wasn’t enough against dads word they wanted you in Melbourne and against his better judgement dad followed, you ran a second in town and did us proud again. But it was to be the start of what was heaven to hell, your owners sent you to Peter Moody and you didn’t do very well, so after sometime you came back to us, your owners wanted you in the derby so we went about getting you ready, and then came the day.You were a big handful before you raced and now when we look back you were most likely trying to tell us something. You went out on the track with David Pires on you they put you in the barriers and you jumped you got down around the first turn and something went wrong. Dave pulled you out of the race. You kept going to the back straight till he pulled you up. I couldn’t wait for the race to be over to get around to see what was wrong with you, mum and I were running to be at your side when our worst nightmare was confirmed.Oh Storm you stood so tall, and so beautiful with this aura over the top of you, then the vet put you to sleep, mum and I kneeled to the ground and kissed you goodbye. To leave your side with just your bridle. You gave dad his greatest achievement in racing and for that he will always love you. Thank you our champ for the memories. RIP."
